Mohamed Taher Pacha and the Princess Fawzia, assisting the Water Polo game of Egypt and Spain at the 1951, Mediterranean Games in AlexandriaMohamed Taher Pacha, cousin of King Farouk I of Egypt and President of the Olympic Committee of Egypt, is considered as thefounder of the Mediterranean Games. Princess Fawzia of Iran and Egypt was sister of King Farouk I of Egypt and wife of Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlevi of Iran.
