Land Rover introduced the One Ten model at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1983, and it has remained in production longer than any other vehicle made by the company apart from the Range Rover.
Robot, built at the Garrison Street factory, this coil-sprung utility is the definitive off-road vehicle. In September 1990, at the Birmingham International Motor Show, the company announced that this famous 'working' Land Rover was to have its' own name - the Defender.
Superb handling in desert sands, mud, snow and ice, make it the perfect choice for the military, but the Defender is equally at home in the city where it is used by Fire Brigades, Police, Ambulance services and uitlity companies all over the world.
B489 EDM was delivered new to South Glamorgan as a Light Four-Wheel Drive Pump, the fire body and equipment work being carried out by Mountain Range of Crewe, Cheshire. It operated out of Roath Fire Station in Cardiff.
This sharp looking, hard to find 1:43 Corgi model, made in 2003, comes with an unsurpassed level of detail, along with pairs of detached side mirrors. It is authenticated by a numbered limited edition certificate card. The box shows very minor shelf wear.
This model has never been out of the box since I bought it except for taking the pictures. It would make a great addition to your diecast Land Rover Defender/Nine Double Nine fire brigade model collection!!
