Question 5-10-20 Any idea what the various yellow colored splotches are on the stars and rays side of the coin? Thanks for your input....JR

Answer  Hi I'm John, Thanks for your question. They were there when I purchased the coin. Examining the (Rev) photos (Rev) before & after certification these marks seem less prominent in the slab. NGC says this coin was cleaned. I don't doubt it, but not by me. If I were forced to guess, they may have been caused during storage in a place that was less than desirable. It is 230+ years old and has much history to tell. Possibly there was much more and whoever cleaned it was not able to erase everything. Thanks Again, John
