7 page photo / illustrated article from a rare 1908 periodical, the article is entitled "Can Criminals be cured by Surgical Operation" by Bernard Hollander MD

Very interesting old article by Dr Hollander discussing the phrenology of criminals along with surgical procedures to "cure" criminals - with several photographs / illustrations including

Robespierre - Absence of ethical instincts he knew no mercy - The forehead is very low and sloping

John Thurtell Cold blooded murderer - he designed his own gallows - Temporal lobes bulging

Musolino King of the Brigands ....lower region of frontal lobe well developed.. head lacking those parts which have to do with the higher moral and religious sentiments
