Dieser Player kann als direkter Ersatz für Astron Belt, Cobra Command (mit geeigneter Hardware) und Galaxy Ranger verwendet werden. Hierfür muss für eine ordnungsgemäße Kommunikation mit der Leiterplatte auf 9600 Baud eingestellt sein. Die Einstellungen des Dip-Schalters für den Hitachi VIP9550 sind: 1-fach, 2-fach, 3-fach, 4-fach.
