Classic vintage Corocraft necklace in fresh bright silvertone metal. This is a simple, subtle and very elegant piece which illustrates brilliantly just how contemporary some good vintage jewellery can look today. I think it is probably rhodium-plated as it dates from between 1945 and 1955 and it is still bright silver and utterly without tarnish. The necklace is very wearable and also a very collectable piece as Coro was the biggest name in post-war American costume jewellery and the Corocraft Pegasus brand was one of their high-end lines. It is composed of overlapping segments, suggestive of sea-shells, and is very versatile as it can be worn as a choker-style or longer necklace by using the extender chain. The full extent of the necklace is 40cm end to end. The piece is in immaculate condition and looks as if it has never been worn. It has a copyright symbol on the reverse and a Corocraft Pegasus hanging tag.
Please note that the beautiful brooch shown in the final image is not included with the necklace. I have photographed them together simply because they are a superb combination. The brooch is by Dyrberg Kern and is for sale separately so please do have a look at my other listings.
