For sale here is a beautiful, dark wood (believed to be mahogany) WW1 period display case for a group of 4. It previously held a Great War Trio and Gallantry Award from Edinburgh, Scotland. Believed to be a couple contemporary made there at the time, as it had stored the WW1 group ever since.

It has a glazed front with 4 small metal hanger/loops set into the top of the display inside, so that medals can be sewn into each loop to make a beautiful display for a treasured family group. Inside, it also has a mirrored panel on the inside-back to mirror light and show the reverses of the medals. It is also lined inside with a pale velvet-type material. Reverse secured with 3 original screws (some missing), somewhat threaded but would benefit from slightly larger screws now.

29cm wide x 19cm high x 9.5cm deep.

Altogether a high-quality, beautiful contemporary piece.

Condition is Used. Dispatched with Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For. Will be very carefully packaged, but given the glass front it is sent at buyer’s risk.
