Bespoke rustic 3 prong hairpin leg handmade desk

Our wood is selected and prepared on site, cut, planed, thickness-ed and professionally and seamlessly jointed, 3 stage sanded and finally sealed and waxed. Our metalwork can be left unfinished in bare steel for that more industrial look or we proffesionally powder coat in many colours to a high standard for a quality durable finish, our standard hairpin legs and box section legs are finished in satin black powdercoat (as the listing photos) please message us to enquire about other finishes and costs, on our metalwork.

Measurements
Our size lengths advertised are up to so if for example you require 90cm long select 100cm and leave a note at checkout with the actual size required. The depths start off at either 45cm or 60cm but once we work the wood this is reduced by around 3cm so the actual finished depths are approx. 42cm and 57cm. we can do bespoke depths on request but please note that even if your ordering a 60cm depth and want it making to 50cm the cost will increase this is because we start with the same amount of wood in materials but it is labour intensive to reduce each board equally to reduce the overall depth.
our desk tops are approximately 3.5cm thick and the standard hairpin legs are 71cm (we can order bespoke hairpin legs in any size, message us before ordering for a price for a custom size)

The first few images in the listing are of a 3 prong hairpin leg desk finished in dark oak, the pictures towards the end in the listing are the bare wood that can be coated with a clear wax or left unfinished for you to paint if you so choose. We also make this desk with a monitor stand (see our other listing for this desk with a monitor stand https://etsy.me/30P4VJx ) and or matching shelves ( for this option message us for a quote and we can create a bespoke listing for you). We can also put a cable tidy hole in the desk, please bear in mind the legs are in the far corners so if you want it in a corner we will place it as close as we can without obstructing the legs.

We are a small family run business set in a rural location in Longton, Derbyshire. We want to bring a unique touch to your home, office, or workplace. We create bespoke furniture handmade from wood our passion for working these projects shines in our feedback and customer reviews.
We are gradually building our business and product range all the time, we also take on commissioned projects so if you have an idea you would like to bring to life drop me a message my skills are broad so I’m sure we could accommodate most products in wood, steel or a combination of both, we can basically turn our hands to most requests.

Our desks are made using a high-quality joinery grade Scandinavian red wood some reclaimed and repurposed but we cant always source enough of this as we will only use redwood from cold countries as its much more stable for furniture making, unlike scaffold boards etc. All the wood is lovingly worked to a high quality finish that can be made to look old and worn with markings for that industrial rustic look or you can request we don’t put the markings in to be made to look modern and new, as standard this will be made WITH the markings, if you do not want them putting into your furniture you MUST leave us a note at checkout. All sides and edges are fully waxed so you may decide to have the markings put in but request us not to pre drill the holes for the legs so you can decide which finish you prefer upon delivery, if you choose this option you will be able to easily drill the holes yourself. All items are made on site at our studio so we can tailor most requirements within reason just contact us prior to ordering. We construct these desks using trade methods, they are not just screwed together like other a lot of other listings. Unless stated otherwise at checkout your desk will be sent with pre-drilled holes for easy fixing of the legs and optional additional monitor shelf. Screws, packers will be sent with the item. We also have an instructional video of how to use the packers if required you can view this on the following link https://bit.ly/3391d0n  or by searching cedar design studio on YouTube.

There are many desks on the market today do not mistake ours for one of the cheaply made items that I see so often, we are very reasonably priced for this quality piece of work. Every item is handmade and finished with a stain and wax or can be left natural for you to paint yourself.

Each table will vary in appearance, no piece of wood is the same and this is what helps us make these unique desks. As your item is made using new and reclaimed wood that has been kiln dried, there may be evidence of its previous history, which means that you can expect to find knocks, cuts, stains and marks from its natural form. We take the upmost care to keep the unique and interesting features of any timber, meaning there will be features such as splits, cracks, knots and waney edges.  Also, with the change in environment occasionally planks can very slightly twist, bow, or move this is unlikely if placed suitably IE not over a radiator. (Included are some packers should you require them simply place them between the desktop and table legs). All these imperfections do not impact its purposed use and help create the unique individual rustic appearance to the decor in your home.
Wood is a natural product that responds to temperature and humidity changes by expanding and contracting. Some of these changes may be noticeable in the physical appearance of the product. Every care is taken to ensure our products can take a certain level of climate and humidity changes, the conditions in your home can affect the wood products, you may experience small movements and cracks as it adjusts, this is not a fault, but a natural occurrence that adds to the character of your item. We advise to keep the product in stable conditions to minimize the effects of temperature and moisture changes in the environment for example avoid placing the table over a heat source i.e. a radiator or next to an fire. This will help prolong the life of your product.

We have the options of 8 wax finishes or clear wax on the natural wood see samples in the images, the wax finishes available are:

•         HONEY •         OLD PINE •         RUSTIC PINE •         DARK OAK

•         TEAK •         JACOBEAN •         WALNUT •         TUDOR OAK

Please note colours can vary slightly from the listing photograph, as the wood is a natural product, there could be a slight variation of colour, grain, and character. We get a lot of requests asking us to match a finish to a photo sent in of existing furniture we will happily give our opinion but we will not guarantee a match and the final decision will be yours, we cannot be held responsible for matching colours.
