ABOUT THIS ITEM

Rare Japanese release of the Atari Lynx, from 1990. Serial number W19C5025046. This is a PAG-0200 model system, identical to other worldwide releases, but includes Japanese manual. Region free, will play American and European Lynx games.

Cosmetically the system is in beautiful condition, clean and without major scratches. It is still used so there are minor scuffs on the cartridge slot. Box is also in very good condition, with some minor storage wear. It includes the foam inserts that hold the system in place. Box is PA2002 version with California Games pictured on the cover, a box design which I believe was exclusive to the Japanese release. Text on the box is in English, with the exception of a barcode sticker that has Atari (アタリ) written in katakana. Serial numbers on the console and the box match.

Manual is in Japanese and includes a small sheet correcting a typo.

The console has been tested with batteries. It has not been tested with external power. It boots up games properly, with backlit screen. Sound also works well, with proper volume. Buttons work properly. One issue is that the screen shows 3 levels of contrast (this is on picture #12). This issue could probably be repaired.

Complete in box Lynx consoles are very difficult to find as it is, and one with a Japanese manual, in this condition, is an extremely rare find. Because of its high value as a collector's item it will be packaged and shipped with utmost care in a sturdy box.
