The Nitinol tension spring can be deformed (up to about 15 cm or 6 inch length) when cold,  and will return to its original shape (2 cm long) at about 45° to 48°C or 113°F to 118°F.  This shape recovery can be repeated many, many times.
The spring has an outer diameter of 6.5 mm, the number of windings is 21, and the wire diameter is 0.75 mm.
