Copper engraved map on hand laid paper with later hand colouring.

Johann Baptist Homann (1663 - 1724) founded his map making and publishing business in Nuremberg about the year 1702. He became the most important German mapmaker of the 18th Century. In 1715 he was appointed 'Geographer to the Emperor' and after his death the company was bequeathed to his son and heirs on condition that it continues to trade under the name of 'Homann Heirs'.

Map area is in good condition for age, engravings are clear. Some stains and small repairs. Hand colouring.
