SOME INTERESTING INFORMATION –
Anchor-Hocking Fire King –
ROSE-ITE Pattern -
Rarest-of-Rare; Hard to Find -
Fire-King "ROSE-ITE (Solid SHELL-PINK Tinted Colour Glass) Swirl" - NOT to be
confused with Fire-King "Pink Swirl" where a pink-glaze is applied as a top-coat of
colour and pieces have a white base-colour, as seen on the center-bottom.
From
on-line searching - in the early 1950’s there was one production run made of
this SOLID-SHELL-PINK Tinted Milk-Glass
that "Anchor Hocking" decided not to market, so pieces were given
away to their employees and never sold - making them Extremely-Rare.
Anchor-Hocking – Fire-King -
Fire-King Glassware was made by the
Anchor Hocking Glass Corporation using a formula that produced durable,
heat-proof glassware. Some pieces were embossed with the name Fire-King, and
others carried identifying foil labels.
Fire-King
colours included Jade-ite, Azur-ite, ROSE-ite, Turquoise Blue, Sapphire Blue,
Ivory, Royal Ruby, Forest Green, and Milk White, along with many fired-on
colors and decorations.
Anchor-Hocking
– Backstamps -
The script and details included in the back-stamp varied
in information, script, and case through time for Anchor-Hocking – useful
for dating items. Molds were used until the embossed information needed to
be updated or until the information was no longer legible.
The
stylized "H-over-Anchor" logo - introduced in 1937 -
was phased-out for the "boxed anchor" by 1977 - the new logo began to
appear in 1968 - BUT - it took a while for all molds to be replaced with the
new embossing.
Not
all pieces were embossed with a logo.
