A very fine certified Scottish violin made by Matthew Hardie in Edinburgh in 1815, as indicated on the maker's label. This is a wonderful example from one of the best Scottish makers who is regarded and referred to as Scottish Stradivari. This is particularly beautiful and elegant instrument made as a copy of the great Antonio Stradivari. The violin is in a very fine state of preservation with a superb golden orange varnish and original neck.
