A superb French violin bow made by Louis Gillet ca. 1950, certified by Isaac Salchow. This is a wonderful octagonal example made with an inspiration of Peccatte model. Gillet was an outstanding bow maker who worked with Sartory from 1934 until 1946. There are many similarities with Sartory work in this bow, specially in details of the frog and button. The bow is in a fine state of preservation. It is an outstanding playing bow with a soloist level handling and sound, probably one of the best examples from the maker's work.
The stick is golden brown pernambuco with spectacular flames, the frog and button are ebony with silver mountings. The length of the stick is 72.9 cm and the weight of the bow is 60.5 g.
Please note that this is a superb professional bow, read complete description in the certificate and bid with confidence; we have sold certified French bows to numerous satisfied collectors, dealers, players and soloists from worldwide. Cashiers check or  bank wire transfer will be accepted within 5 days after auction completed. Buyer pays $55 USA shipping/handling via UPS (plus actual insurance cost), $115 for International via UPS (plus actual insurance cost, if available for the specific country). Thank you and good luck!
