Pleased to off a detailed map of Port Praya in the Island St. Jago, on the the Cape de Verds; it's a copper plate engraving done in 1777 by Wm Strahan in New Street, Show Lane and Thomas Cadell in the Strand.  London.  The engraving shows Port Praya in relief and shows the bathymetric soundings.  It is Plate No X from the second volume of the first edition of "A Voyage toward the South Pole" by Captain James Cook.  It meaures 9" by 12" and is in great condition but for age yellowing.  It shows where to get water and an image of a fort.  This was located off of western Africa.  Enjoy this wonderful bit of history.
