Vintage mid century modern 1960 original hand hammered copper repousse relief art. Depicts a beautiful naked young woman brushing her hair back with her hand. Medium is hand hammered copper mounted to wood board and wrapped in a linen matting. Signed and dated J. Bien 1960 on the reverse side. Presumably French in origin.
In Good overall condition. Copper is well preserved with only gentle signs of handling. Linen matting shows staining along the base, soiling, rippling and a small boarder tear along the left side. Quite worthy of framing but ready to hang as is.
Provenance comes from a large collection of art purchased from the estate of a southern Massachusetts art dealer.
Measures 12” x 9” and 19 3/4” x 13 1/2” with the linen matting.
