After the war, Alfonso Sansone began almost by chance to produce  documentaries with his brother Agostino and from Palermo he moved to Rome. 

Thanks to Citto Maselli he met a young Australian of Polish origin, Henryk Chroscicki, who was in the city to attend the National Film School.

Henryk and Alfonso become friends and begin to dream about the films they want to make.

They initially founded the company ATC, with which they rented technical equipment. In France Henryk bought the license to build an anamorphic lens : the Totalscope.

Subsequently they create the SanCro Film, acronym of their names: Sansone and Chroscicki.

Their production makes the fortune of many directors like Taviani and   Ferreri. With Ferreri and Ugo Tognazzi, after the film The conjugal bed they set up a fruitful collaboration.

Sancro Film also produced western movies involving Hollywood stars such as Telly Savalas, James Coburn, John Phillip Law and Lee Van Cleef.

Alfonso and Henryk become two important producers; they work with    Rizzoli, Lombardo, Ponti, Levine and many others. After hard times there comes times of plenty.

Years later, when SanCro closed down, Sansone imported the films by Jodorowsky, Wenders, Fassbinder, Herzog and Rohmer to Italy.            

Chroscicki founded the company Technovision, also collaborating with Francis Ford Coppola in Apocalypse Now. This is their story... this is the story of a cinema that no longer exists.
