Frame Only

These frames are finished in an elegant black colour so that they can be used as a standalone ornamental sculpture.

These frames are often sent in parts which keeps the cost of shipping low and lets you more easily fill the frame with planting material.

Note that they do not split in half, and that there is not always access at the bottom. Additional modification is required to fit a thick woody plant, like yew or taxus, inside. Contact us if you would like a quote for us to make these modifications for you.

These frames work really well with climbing plants which can grow up the outside of the frame. You can also plant them up with succulents such as sedums and sempervivums.

Moss

The above frames are stuffed with sustainably grown moss that’s been dried and dyed to create a soft, green topiary sculpture straight away. You don’t have to worry about trimming or watering these sculptures as the moss is no longer growing. Suitable for indoor or outdoor use, they’re great if you’re looking for a low maintenance sculpture that isn’t made from plastic.

Ligustrum or Ilex crenata

Choose this and you get a real living plant sculpture, made with specially grown Box-leaved privet (Ligustrum delavayanum) or Japanese Holly (Ilex crenata), growing around a strong custom made steel frame.

Ligustrum and Ilex crenata are almost identical looking hardy evergreen plants. They are perfect for topiary sculptures as they are highly durable, immune to box-blight and easy to care for.

Both novice and experienced gardeners will derive great pleasure from the calming and therapeutic process of clipping back the new growth in order to maintain the sculpture’s shape. No need to worry about clipping too much either, the steel frame will act as a cutting guide for you.

We will use your choice of Ligustrum or Ilex crenata whereever possible, though where using the other plant will produce better results we will let you know.

Artificial Grass

The sculpture will be covered in zero-maintenance, authentic looking faux grass that’s suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Artificial Boxwood

A very realistic alternative to traditional box topiary that can be used indoors or outdoors. These sculptures require no maintenance at all. The artificial boxwood is UV fade protected for long-term outdoor use and they’re weather resistant. It’ll provide a wow-factor that can be used time and time again.
