The Arduino Leonardo is based on the Atmel ATmega32u4 and has 20 digital inputs and outputs, 7 of which can be used as PWM outputs, 12 analog inputs, a clock rate of 16 MHz, a MicroUSB connection, a DC socket, an ICSP Connection and a reset button.
In contrast to most Arduino boards, the Arduino Leonardo does not need an additional USB controller for communication between the computer and the microcontroller. The ATmega32u4 has an integrated USB controller which, when connected to a computer, functions as a mouse / keyboard and as a virtual serial interface (CDC) or COM port is displayed.
