Adafruit Music Maker FeatherWing with amplifier, synth player for MP3, OGG, WAV, MIDI

The powerful Adafruit Music Maker FeatherWing with integrated amplifier has a VS1053 chipset for encoding and decoding a variety of audio formats, such as MP3, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, WMA, FLAC, WAV (PCM and ADPCM). With the help of the FeatherWing, for example, the bass, treble and volume can be changed. In contrast to the Music Maker FeatherWing this board has an on-board 3W amplifier!

The functionality offered can be accessed via the SPI interface. The FeatherWing is therefore compatible with Allen Feather Boards. Files that were previously stored on the memory card can be accessed via the existing microSD card slot. The chip can also be booted into a special MIDI mode in which MIDI data is read at the TX pin of the UART interface. This turns your feather into a synth / drum machine with many integrated samples and effects.

Please note that you have to provide an appropriate external power supply, especially for operating 3W 4Ω loudspeakers. You can also operate 1W 8Ω loudspeakers on the FeatherWing without any problems.

Every FeatherWing is delivered assembled and tested. In addition to FeatherWing, the scope of delivery also includes pin headers that you can solder on if necessary. Please note that memory card, breadboard and headset are not included.
