15mW 635nm Red Collimated Aiming Laser Diode w/ Low Temp Solder Adjustable Mount

635nm red laser diode module with adjustable mount. The 9.3mm diameter module is easily removable for use in your own fixture. We tested them here and found a threshold current around 20mA. We increased the current until the power started to roll off above 50mA where the diode makes about 15mW. These are probably meant to be run at 5-10mW. The output beam is about 21mm above the mounting surface. These work nicely with the red/green dichro we have in another listing.

Note that this does not contain a driver. The laser diode is wired

The adjustable mount is interesting. It uses low temperature solder to hold the optic in place. You can melt the solder by applying a DC voltage across the terminals on the ceramic heater between the laser module and the base. Once the laser is aligned, remove power to the heater and the solder hardens again, permanently locking it in place. The heater resistance is about 40 ohms and in testing here, was able to melt the solder with as little as 12V applied. We tested up to 20V which also worked well and melted the solder much more quickly

Return Policy
