This is an Estate Fresh old Pair of Serving Dishes or Special Plates from a long time collector of High End Coin & Sterling Hollowware.  I have purchased part of a huge collection and will be offering it here over the next several weeks or more.  These pieces are from all over the world including Paris France England Germany and here in the US.

This particular Pair is a Rare and Fantastic 2 (Two) BOIN TABURET FRENCH 950 SILVER OYSTER SHELL HANDLE SERVING DINING PLATES.  These are a great style and I am not sure how else to describe them other than a Clam Shell Shaped Serving with Rolled Clam Hinge handle and applied Filigree floral trim edge.  I can see a set or 5 or 6 Oysters being served in this beautiful pair.  One can always get seconds.  They are clearly marked with the Boin Taburet Hallmark and Paris France.  It also carries another mark, probably the actual maker, but the marks are so obscure that I cannot make it out enough to ID.  Almost looks like a GB on one side of the Diamond stamp, and a TN on the other, but I can find nothing that matches, I have supplied a pic of both marks best I can so maybe you can tell.  Each weighs 454.86g though one may be slightly less than the other.  The size is 9.25" side to side x 8.5" front back, and 1 5/8" deep at the back handle

Boin-Taburet was established in 1873 by the antique dealer George Boin and the jeweller Emile Taburet.   The firm was credited for the revival of interest in Louis XV style silver-work in Paris in the late 1880 s, and awarded a gold medal at the Paris 1889 Exposition Universelle..  As well as producing exceptional silver and metal work the company retailed small items of furniture and decorative objects of the very highest order, made by the leading ébénistes of the day.

A Stunning Example of the Elegance and Sophistication of Original French 950 Sterling Silver Traditionally Reserved for the World's Elite. As silversmiths to the Aristocracy of Europe, Boin Taburet has long been one of France's premier suppliers of fine silver. This pair is skillfully handcraft with the fine workmanship that has made this name a legend. Renowned for its elegant styling and the legendary quality of their products, this is an exemplary testimony to the quality and luxury enjoyed by 19th century French aristocracy. This piece is in extremely good condition as described above and it bears the hallmark of the French Government's "Head of the Minerva - 1 " Hallmark, certifying a minimum of 950 sterling silver.
