Features
$2
Coloured, Glow in the Dark, Dance of the Spirits *CCCS Certified MS-63*
Timothy Hsia of Richmond (BC) captured the ageless wonder of the aurora borealis
with this design of two paddlers witnessing the Dance of the Spirits—celestial
beings that continue to dance with radiant splendor after 150 years.
$1 Connecting a Nation *CCCS
Certified MS-65*
Wesley Klassen of St. Catharines (ON) created this montage of landmarks that
can be seen coast to coast while riding the trans-Canada railway—the engine
that powered Confederation 150 years ago, and remains essential to connecting
Canadians today.
50¢ Official CANADA 150 Logo *CCCS
Certified MS-65*
Ariana Cuvin of Toronto, Ontario, has transformed a maple leaf into an
eye-catching mosaic representing Confederation. The four diamond shapes
connected to the stem symbolize the original provinces that formed
Confederation in 1867 (Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia), while the
remaining 9 shapes represent the provinces and territories that followed.
Combined, they form the iconic symbol that represents unity, freedom and peace
for people around the world
25¢ Hope for a Green Future *CCCS
Certified MS-65*
Eight-year-old Joelle Wong of Richmond Hill (ON) expressed his hope for a green
future with a design that shows two hands nurturing a plant, while a bird,
beaver and turtle hold onto it—a desire to protect nature and create a healthy
planet for all its animals.
10¢ Wings of Peace *CCCS Certified
MS-65*
Amy Choi of Calgary (AB) combined a maple leaf and a dove to celebrate Canada's
prominence as a peacekeeping nation—a distinction that inspires people
throughout the world, and is an ever-growing part of what it means to be
"Canadian".
5¢ Living Traditions *CCCS Certified
MS-65*
Gerald Gloade of Millbrook First Nation (NS) used the ancient style of the
northeastern woodland tribes of the inspired Algonkian style to re-interpret
Canada's iconic beaver, and celebrate a culture that is always growing and
changing, but strong as ever after 150 years.
