Image: 19 ¼" Height x 12 ⅞" Width

DESCRIPTION:
For sale is this second of three recently discovered on the North Shore of Massachusetts, pencil signed trio of Minimalist Geo-Abstract, Pop-Art color serigraphs, done with similar conceptual temperament and colors. The trio of mid-20th century vintage silkscreen works on paper were found unframed and individually wrapped in Mylar protective plastic in the same large portfolio. Each is signed in pencil by the 20th century American artist and printmaker Thomas K. Lang and current professor of fine art and printmaking at Webster University, St. Louis, Missouri and currently Art Department Chair. This work, titled 'Tread,' was dated 1973 and reflects many of the aesthetic concerns and revolutionary artistic issues discussed at that particular time, those being principally the tenets of not only Modernist abstract graphic iconography but the streamed-down, pared-back properties of Minimalist, Geo-Abstract works, where only three colors and simple arranged shapes, can create quite an intellectual dilemma of determining what exactly the viewer is looking at. With the directness, power and punch of Pop-Art. Very sharp.

CONDITION:
Very Good to Excellent overall vintage condition. The bottom right corner of the print's paper margin is slightly bruised and subsequently weakened. There's also a slight nick at the bottom along the white paper's lower margin.
