I have to admit that I do have warm memories of Avon! Everyone surely has had a Aunt, Grandma or Mom that sold Avon. It was always a treat to see new products and as a child I loved to browse through the Avon Gift Catalogs or I think they were called brochures later on. Christmas was not Christmas without receiving a gift or two of some wonderful box of smelly stuff, bubble bath, little lady lipsticks or perhaps a child's brush shaped like a princess of some sort that was Avon merchandise. But growing up in the 70's, I am now a little disappointed that Avon did not carry on with their tradition of such lovely big gift catalogs that they created back in the 30-50's era. I guess it would be hard to cram 300 items on 16 pages.:) They are amazing!
The previous owner of the Avon and California Perfume Co. Ads that I purchased these from, had this catalog dated 1953. This gift catalog I would rate as being in Fair to Good Condition. You will find just a few turned corners and a small tear on the back cover. Pretty minimal, taking in consideration its age. Fun for the ephemera, Avon or Scrapbook Collector!
