Up for sale is this Thomsonite Ring. As you can see from the photos the ring is pretty small. A little less than 5 1/2. This ring was designed and purchased in the early 80’s at the famous Thomsonite Beach Motel & Resort, located on the north shore in Minnesota. Not many jewelers work with this stone. You have to work around your stone instead of the opposite. You want the stones “eye” to be the focal point. The stones are removed by hand from the bedrock. A painstaking & time-consuming process. Despite being nearly as hard as an agate, Thomsonite can crack when removed from the bedrock. The ring itself has some wear but no cracks bends, etc. I am not sure what the ring part is made of. The stone is in excellent condition.
