DESCRIPTION:
Offered for your review and consideration, is this nearly pristine, estate fresh and recently discovered here in a finely appointed southern New Hampshire estate, mid-20th century American vintage oil on canvas by the well-known American painter of horses, Helene Alison. It features a beautiful standing spotted American Pinto horse in a field, with trees and gentle rolling hills in the background. Helene Alison was active as a painter in Pennsylvania in the mid to late 20th century, with this signed oil on canvas dating from 1970 to 1976. It's artist signed in paint in the lower left corner of the painting. It's framed in its original period, fork raked wooden frame and still has a metallic paper picture framer's Pennsylvania label affixed to the back of one of the painting's canvas stretcher bars. The brown paper dust cover, once fully covering the back of the canvas, has since been largely torn away, now exposing the back of the canvas. The spotted Pinto horse is wonderfully painted and has extraordinary detail. An exceptional American horse painting. Absolutely gorgeous. Not just for horse or racing lovers. Very clean.
