Welcome to my listing for this wonderful map of the City of New York dated 1835 by Henry S. Tanner.
Map and frame with matting are in excellent condition.

This map of New York City is a lithograph engraving dating to 1835, published by American Mapmaker Henry S. Tanner.  It depicts the island of Manhattan from 37th street (Kips Bay) south to Battery Park and Brooklyn from Williamsburg to Columbia St.

The map is hand colored by wards.  The whole is shown in magnificent detail with keys naming many important buildings ranging from the Brooklyn Navel Yards to important
Brooklyn.

One of the most visually appealing maps of New York City to emerge from the workshops of a mid-19th century American cartographer.  This is one of the earliest maps of New York City to appear in a commercial atlas.
