Large size Art Deco period sculpture of an alsatian
Naturalistically modelled as an alert recumbent dog
on marble base with exquisite quality casting detail; the black marble base has natural russet brown vein inclusions, one which looks like a hairline break across by the front paws which has been glued back tightly; at first glance it blends with the veined pattern - closer look under magnification reveals it has been glued in the past; apart from this fault/break, the cast metal figure is perfect - finely detailed with lovely patina; nice example tactile Art Deco period casting sculpture - a beautiful display piece.

The dog figure is 30cm wide from paws to tail and 17cm high up to the ears (excluding the base)
