A handsome copy of Wilde's fragile volume of fairy tales. The condition of this book exceeds many from other booksellers asking thousands more. Japanese Vellum soiling practically non-existent. I am pricing it to sell. If you want buy it and make a few thousand on it. All it requires is patience.
The Happy Prince and Other Tales, Illustrated by Walter Crane and Jacomb Hood. London: David Nutt, 1888. Original Japanese vellum boards decorated in red and black. First Edition (which consisted of 1000 copies) of this collection of five fairy tales, none of which had previously been published. The binding design, in addition to numerous head-pieces and tailpieces, is by Jacomb Hood; there are three full-page plates by Walter Crane.
The Happy Prince, a large-format volume bound in flexible white boards, is one of the most difficult Wilde volumes to obtain in desirable condition: typically it is extremely soiled, cracked at the hinges, and rather loose in the binding. This however is a handsome, near-fine copy with very little soil, mildly bumped at the corners and with the almost-inevitable minor foxing within (the endpapers have a few faint tape stains and two bookplates.) In all, a highly collectible copy. Mason 313.

Many of the books were purchased in the 70s up to early 2000s. Many of the books are better than anything I can find online. Many of them I include pictures of its pedigree.
