DESCRIPTION:
For sale is this really wonderful and recently discovered late 19th to early 20th century antique Rankine's Biscuits wood box advertising crate, from St. John, New Brunswick, Canada. The box would be even better than it already is, if someone hadn't pried the top nailed wooden lid off it at the time it was originally opened to retrieve the biscuit packages contained inside. The top margin of the wood box crates' sidewalls were broken or split by the pry bar and the rest of the sidewalls were snapped off at the same point and height, to even off the top. The box would be originally higher than it is now, as can be seen by the affixed front paper label, truncated at the very top. The red and blue ink stamped long sidewalls are also seen with the top portion of their typography sliced off. This antique Rankine's Biscuit box is however, very scarce and an especially early one, being made from 1885 to 1915, with nailed corners, wood plank floor and all wood construction. The original front sidewall affixed paper label is nearly intact. Terrific.

CONDITION:
Fair to Good overall antique condition.
