Second pair of these that I have in stock at the moment (these show more wear than the other pair)
This is a very rare pair to come by, especially in the original box and in this condition
I don't know if Adidas didn't have the three stripes trademarked at the time or if Converse simply threw caution into the wind by using the three stripes. I assume some sort of legal action occured, as this model later took on the star and stripe design of the one-star (though it was used with many models eventually).
Since I can't date these precisely, I'd estimate late-60's (based on the box and the three-stripe design, consistent with the era)

The actual shoes reveal no branding or identification, though the black box on the outer-sole had the Chuck Taylor badge printed on it at one point in time. Obviously, printing it on the underside meant that it probably wore off rather quickly. Who knows, you might be able to see a light shadow of the badge with some severe cleaning.
The style code, size, and 'made in USA' are all molded into the soles. About 75% of the tread is left (rather shallow anyway, residual dirt as expected)

Original box is in good shape, a bit dirty and a slight dent on one side.
While they were clearly worn at one point in time, they've been carefully stored for decades
Very good vintage condition; while there is general wear, discoloration, residual dirt, and signs of use - there is no structural damage whatsoever
Some of the stitching shows wear, but it's all intact and tight (I could find no torn/broken stitching, this is purely based on my observation)
There is a portion of the upper midsole that's slightly torn on the rear right shoe (no effect on structural integrity, no missing rubber)
There's also a small pocket between the midsole and sole on the outer left shoe that looks like more than it is (doesn't seem to be pulling away or coming apart, likely a factory issue)

Generally, these vintage converse have some glue residue along the top-midsole. This is just a combination of age, materials, and sloppy assembly - nothing unusual.
There are other spots of residual dirt and wear that could be removed with a thorough cleaning/restoration
There's some red-tinted residue on the heel tabs where a name was written in what seemed to be a carpenters pencil (not marker, mind you) of which I did my best to remove and clean up. It's really only residue at this point and largely unnoticeable/mostly gone. They could likely benefit from a more signifigant cleaning and it really wouldn't take much to get all of the residue off.
I recently gave them a quick cleaning, but was careful to leave them in vintage condition (no chemicals/solvents that could damage the materials)
The insoles are clean and in good shape, obviously a couple spots of wear, but nothing to worry about.
No holes, odors, loose threads, etc.
General discoloration and wear. Again, they're in vintage condition and I try to leave vintage items in their original state because collectors/restorers can be picky.

I can make no guarantees on the condition of the rubber with these. Due to their age and the nature of vulcanized rubber, it's always a gamble. The rubber is entirely intact and in good condition as of listing them. I assume no liability for the condition of the rubber if you choose to wear them, please be advised.
This is a pair of shoes from the 1960's; there will be flaws and signs of age/wear. Please understand that I am unable to accept or offer returns on vintage items.
