The griddle pan is reversible and has one side which is smooth and one side that is a ridged.

The ridged side is perfect for cooking all meats and fish and will result in a stripy seared cook.

The flat side is a hotplate and is ideal for cooking foods such as fried eggs, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes and pancakes etc.

The griddle is made from cast iron which means it is very economical as it retains the heat for longer and reaches high temperatures.

Warming Tips:
1- When using the pan for the first time, apply a thin layer of vegetable oil to the surface and pre-heat slowly to season the pan.
2- After use, clean the pan with hot water and a soft cloth or stiff nylon brush. Never clean the griddle pan in a dishwasher or use detergents to clean it.
3- Towel dry immediately and apply a light coating of oil while still warm to keep seasoned and prevent any rusting.
Cast iron is naturally non-stick so there is no 'coating' on this pan. If you experience surface peeling it is not the non-stick surface coming away, it is burnt oil and may be the result of insufficient cleaning or over oiling during seasoning.
