■Condition:
an authentic antique samurai skinken produced, purchased, and shipped straight from Japan. This item comes with certification papers verifying it's registration and authenticity. As these were halted in production after World War 2, the piece was produced in the early or pre-showa era. The blade definitely shows aging but the quality is overall a wonderful condition for how old it is, with a very sharp clean blade, strong handle, and professional weighting. The exterior sheath of the piece has some cracks and dents but retains a quality rayon chord. We have not opened up the blade to confirm tang fullness but it came with authenticity papers when acquired, indicating markings and size. Please see all pictures for full representation before purchasing.
■Rank:
B ranking - This item was previously owned but there is no doubt of authenticity as this item was produced and found right here in Japan with professional registration verification. It doesn't get more authentic than this when it comes to the art of Japanese sword making. Please see all images for accuracy.

STRAIGHT FROM JAPAN - This is an authentic antique Japanese sword. We have not taken the item apart or changed it in anyway so you will be receiving exactly what you're seeing! This sword is a pre-World War II vintage production with papers confirming inscriptions and year of certification. PLEASE NOTE: These papers are often retained by the customs offices when finally shipped. They are registration papers for the ownership in Japan and therefore are forfeited when the item is sent to a new owner overseas. All swords of this style were stopped being produced post world war 2 meaning this one was likely produced during the early showa era, but it could have originated even prior to that. It was registered in Showa 43 but with no registered name on the blade itself (or if it was it's too difficult to discern). The blade retains a VERY sharp finish with authentic hamon visually indicating high quality production of the time. If you are looking for a real Japanese sword, you've come to the right place. The piece is a functional sword but currently has a loose tsuba at time of posting, so you will want to have it's habaki collar tightened before swinging it around probably. The piece shows a very unique Menuki (handle ornament) which looks like a running man wearing a kuma/bear mask. There is a great looking floral and Inari shrine design on the buttcap (kashira) and also on the bottom collar (fuchi) too. Please see our other sales for hard to find and authentic vintage product. Don't forget let us know if you have any questions about pricing options or product info!
