VENINI Murano glass Lightining - Vase from the 'Antefila' series, conceived by industrial designer EMMANUEL BABLED  in 1993.

The series was created to be modular, with fully-interchangeable parts, and came with an array of base sizes and elements like vases and lamps. This vase has a solid glass base made of deep amathyst glass cased in clear, with a satinated exterior and polished ends. The flared-rim vase is light pink cased in a vibrant dark violet exterior.

The two elements are joined by a threaded screw. The vases are signed to the base 'Venini 93', and the base bar is signed on one polished end 'Venini 94' - it wasn't uncommon for different 'Antefila' parts to be produced at different times, one perhaps being stored longer than the other, before being packed together at the factory.

Production was limited in 99 pieces of each color combination and produced between mid 1993 - beginning of 1994
