Myth busting!
Coconut oil has very few vitamins present in the unrefined oil, so the refining process doesn't damage the quality of the oil at all. The health benefits of using coconut oil stem mainly from the high concentration of medium chain triglycerides (MCTs) and Lauric Acid; and these fatty acids are not effected by the refining process at all. Nutritionally, refined coconut oil is just as good for you as cold pressed, unrefined coconut oil, it just doesn't have the higher price tag!
