The brooch is 1.7 inch diameter and the annulus is 0.4 inch wide.

most unusually the brooch is signed SD. Sybil Dunlop very rarely signed her work, neither did Dorrie Nossiter, which given the similarity in style does cause  confusion. However this piece is fully hallmarked for London 1955 , a late piece and as such must have a sponser"s mark
