The French CCE Temperate T4 S2 ripstop combat jacket is a highly technical garment with jacket features, such as lower waist pockets, pleated upper back, reinforced elbows and jacket style lengthened sleeve cuffs, but has a flattened profile front with chest pockets accessed from the sides, rather than from the top. This is purpose designed so that body armour can be worn without discomfort from pressure points on the front of the chest and so that pockets can still be zipped open from either side without removing a vest. The collar can be worn open or fastened to just under the chin, another feature which is more comfortable under body armour.

The jacket only has the hip pockets on the front, but also has a pair of upper arm pockets faced with velcro for attaching insignia. Elbows are reinforced with an extra layer. The jacket is made from ripstop material and the pattern is designated as T4 S2 FELIN integrated infantry equipment system uniform
