About the Author: Edwin A. Dawes is an Honorary Vice-President and Gold Medallist of The Magic Circle, its historian and recipient of its Maskelyne and Devant Awards for contributions respectively to British and International Magic. He was the first recipient of the FISM Special Award for History & Research, awarded a Special Fellowship by the Academy of Magical Arts in 2017, and in 2018 was honoured with the Allan Slaight Lifetime Achievement Award. Author of twenty-four books and monographs and ‘A Rich Cabinet of Magical Curiosities,’ which is now in its forty-seventh year in The Magic Circular.
