Alla fine degli anni venti del Novecento l’ingegnere Angelo Invernizzi aveva concepito l’idea singolare di edificare in cemento armato, tra le belle colline d’origine, a oriente di Verona, una casa di villeggiatura rotante, per sé e la propria famiglia.

I lavori di costruzione di quello che si può definire un capolavoro eccentrico dell’architettura del XX secolo, iniziarono nel giugno 1931 e terminarono nel 1935.

Il libro, nella prima parte, racconta la storia della villa, documentando il progetto e le vicende costruttive dell’opera ciclopica. La seconda parte del volume presenta la villa nella sua veste attuale, attraverso le recenti fotografie realizzate da Enrico Cano.

La casa ruota per seguire il sole, proprio come un girasole si apre e si gira per seguire il sole. Angelo Invernizzi sognava di costruire una casa che “massimizzasse le proprietà salutari del sole ruotandolo per seguirlo”. Progettò la casa per se stesso con l'aiuto dell'ingegnere meccanico Romolo Carapacchi , dell'arredatore d'interni Fausto Saccorotti e dell'architetto Ettore Fagiuoli.

At the end of the twenties of the twentieth century, the engineer Angelo Invernizzi had conceived the singular idea of building a rotating holiday home for himself and his family in reinforced concrete, among the beautiful hills of origin, east of Verona. Construction work on what can be defined as an eccentric masterpiece of twentieth century architecture began in June 1931 and ended in 1935. The book, in the first part, tells the story of the villa, documenting the project and the construction events of the Cyclopean work. The second part of the volume presents the villa in its current form, through the recent photographs taken by Enrico Cano.

The House rotates to follow the sun, just as a sunflower opens up and turns to follow the sun. Angelo Invernizzi dreamed of building a house that would “maximize the health properties of the sun by rotating to follow it”. He designed the house for himself with the help of the mechanical engineer Romolo Carapacchi , of the interior decorator Fausto Saccorotti and the architect Ettore Fagiuoli
