Yakovlev Yak-42 Russian Passenger Airplane Vintage Wooden Pilot’s Desk Model.


The Yakovlev Yak-42 (Russian: Яковлев Як-42; NATO reporting name: "Clobber") is a 100/120-seat three-engined mid-range passenger jet developed in the mid 70's to replace the technically obsolete Tu-134. It was the first airliner produced in the Soviet Union to be powered by modern high-bypass turbofan engines.


This narrow-bodied airline designed by Yakovlev and built by Saratov Aviation Plant. First flown in 1975 and in operation since 1980. Estimates are that around 185 have been built.


Model is about 10” nose to tail and 9” in wingspan. On plastic base with Yakovlev logo.


PLEASE NOTE THAT ONE ENGINE IS MISSING. Otherwise in nice condition. A few small paint chips missing on the end of one wing.
