Before I get into the details here, please make sure that you need a Betacam SP deck and not an 'S SP' as the two are not interchangeable.
This is an original Betacam SP format deck; I am not responsible for your attention to details. Please ask if you do not know, as I am unable to accept returns.

I don't know most of the specifics regarding this deck. I do know that it's essentially a Sony BVW-35 that's been rebranded as a BTS (Broadcast Television Systems)
I think this was just a standards thing - unit was meant to produce television-formatted video out of the box
If you're looking through this listing, you likely have a better chance of knowing the details than I do.
On that note, I'll spare the specifics of various functions/utilities - if you're here, you know what this is and why you need it.

This was the original Betacam deck of a professional video production company several decades ago (late-80's)
Owned by the company since it was first purchased; unit has not traded hands at any point.
Recently pulled from storage and cleaned up/tested for basic functionality. It was kept in a temperature controlled environment, smoke-free and pet-free
As noted, I was only able to test it for basic functionality. It powers up and moves tape properly. The VU lights come on and the timecode display screen is operational as well.
Lights inside the unit are operational, basic transport functions work, door opens and closes without issue.
Beyond these basic functions, I cannot make any guarantees. Even in terms of basic transport functions; I would still advise that you have it professionally serviced/calibrated before putting it to work. It has not been through those motions in decades and will likely need some tuning up before it performs at that level again.

Not hard to tell that there's a fair bit of cosmetic wear to the unit. As far as I can tell, most of the wear is purely cosmetic - and I'm sure that much of it can be removed with additional cleaning/restoration work. I did my best to clean it up and remove all of the dust/adhesive reside that I could find. It's far from perfect, but serves its purpose.
It will come with several revisions of the manual (huge stack, half a foot high) and an extender board that was never installed.
I am also including the carry bag for this unit, of which is quite beat up. Much like the unit itself, cosmetically imperfect but ultimately serves its purpose.

Please understand that this unit is powered by either batteries or a proprietary power supply connector (12VAC 4-pin XLR)
I tested it with a Sony AC-500 and it operated as intended. All of the original batteries are no longer operational (and weren't included with the unit to begin with)
Make sure that you've planned for a method of powering it before purchasing, as it will not include any means of supplying power to the unit.
I currently have two AC-500's (only one listed at the moment) and I would be willing to offer a bundle deal for the unit and an AC-500 if you inquire before purchasing.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions/concerns
I have detailed everything to the best of my ability, please excuse my lack of technical knowledge in regard to this unit.
The internet is full of information on this one, plus all of the manuals that are included with this unit specifically - you shouldn't have to look too far to figure things out.
