New in shrink wrap, Aldila NVS Sport stiff flex, and a counter wieght(+16g) Boccieri grip.

Head Overview

The Maltby STw features a 4pc forged Precision Fit Plasma welded construction with complex internal acoustical ribbing integrated inside the club head to produce the highest possible conforming CT measurement but with an incredibly solid sound and feel at impact. The 460cc STw driver features a VFT face design with an ultra-thin 2.9mm face center for increased ball speeds. The deep 2.455" face height increases the overall hitting surface while the deep center of gravity decreases distance loss and tightens ball dispersion patterns on off center hits to increase overall and average driving distances.

Features

  • 4-pc Precision Fit Plasma Welding construction for extremely tight tolerances
  • Deep 2.455" face height increases the clubs face's overall surface area for higher ball speeds on toe and heel miss hits
  • Sole design features a precisely positioned Flex Channel for greater ball speeds on both high and low miss hits.
  • Complex internal acoustical ribbing produces an extremely solid sound and feel at impact
  • A 10 gram rearward weight pad creates a deep center of gravity maximizing the heads MOI (4.6k) to increase distance and accuracy on off-center hits
  • Product Code = MA0274

Maltby STw Driver Clubhead Specifications

The ALDILA® NVS SPORT has a 65g raw weight, and a .335 tip, 4* torque and a low-kick point, high launch shaft. This shaft were designed for Dunlop.

The ALDILA® NVS Orange is one of the most popular after-market shafts ever. The NVS Orange features ALDILA® ‘s NexGen Micro Laminate Technology® (MLT) - which uses up to twice as ultra-thin layers of premium grade carbon fiber material, to eliminate unwanted gaps and “dead zones” that can occur during the manufacturing process. MLT enhances feel and eliminate inconsistent shots cause by shaft variability.

The NVS Orange was born to perform and continues to withstand the test of time.

Enter the Secret Grip.

Feel free to chuckle at the name...god knows I did when I first heard it. The secret is actually a 16g Tungsten weight fixed in the butt end of the grip. Also worth whispering about is the grip material itself, which is 40% heavier than a standard grip. The average grip weights in at +/- 52 grams. The Secret Grip that I personally weighted registered just under 96 grams. Basically we're talking about a grip that's 100% heavier than the IOmics I have on my irons.

One other noteworthy design feature of the Secret Grip is that it offers what Boccieri calls a "Tour Profile", which is basically a built-up lower hand, or more simply put, less taper than a standard grip. As you can see from the photos, it's also about 1" longer than a "normal" grip.

The reported benefits of the Secret Grip are the same as other Boccieri clubs. They include:

  • Better Plane on Takeaway
  • Helps Set the Hands More Quickly
  • Smoother Transition
  • Holds Angle of Retention Longer
  • Helps Square Face at Impact
  • Creates Full Extension Through Impact
  • Balanced Finish
