Colour Mill is a family owned, Australian based food colour manufacturer specializing in the cake and bake industry. With over 30 years experience in the industry, they have seen trends come and go. From fondant to royal icing, buttercream to chocolate. Through all of this, the way we dye with food colouring has stayed much the same.
Utilizing modern formulas and processes, Colour Mill has developed a range of Oil Based Pigment Colouring which outperforms conventional gel colouring.
Colour Mill colourings allow the colour to disperse through every part of a fat-rich medium, including the sugar, eggs, and butter. This is because all water-based materials have been removed and replaced with bake & cake friendly oils; these oils mix through much better than water-based gels (which we know water repels from the oils in your baking).
Unlike your average gel colours, Colour Mill loves the fats and oils found in your baking, and uses it to disperse the special formula colouring. This results in stunningly vibrant, consistent shades that will not fade. It works especially great in buttercream, swiss meringue, chocolate, cake batter, ganache and sugarpastes. It also works in flower pastes, gumpastes, modelling pastes, royal icing, marzipan, cake mixes, pastry, frostings, isomalt, piping gel, cake lace mixes and more.
Not only will your cakes look amazing, but Colour Mill will also help you get more colour for your buck. The high concentration means you use much less than you normally would to achieve even brighter and colourful results. You only need a tiny drop at a time to build up your desired shade - we recommend using the end of a cocktail stick.
Only a tiny amount of colouring is needed. We wouldn't recommend using more than 2% of what the colour is being mixed into.
There are over 30 different colours to choose from, with each bottle containing 20ml or 100ml. The bottle comes with a squeeze-top dispenser lid for increased accuracy.
Please note, the pigments used in each colour vary in weight. Some will weigh more than others, but all colours are the same strength and filled to the top.
Colour Mill can be diluted with alcohol to form an edible paint. Please note, due to the oil in the colours, it may take longer than average to dry.

Tips & Tricks
Colour Mill is free of thickeners and gums, this means Colour Mill colours may settle over time. It is best to give the bottle a good shake to mix through before use.
Take it easy! Remember Colour Mill colours will develop over time. To bring your colours to life, we suggest colouring and allowing to sit overnight (these will give the most rich & vibrant results).
Get creative!
Cake decorating is all about experimenting and expressing yourself, don't be afraid to mix Colour Mill colours, add into different mediums and try new things!
Store in a cool dry place away from sunlight.

We may try to assess the fault before allowing you to return the item, please be patient. If your purchase is unsatisfactory return the goods to us within 30 days of their receipt, in the original undamaged packaging and in a re-saleable condition. Return postage costs will not be refunded.
UK Delivery
Item will be posted Royal Mail Second Class for FREE
If you would like it sooner, you can select Royal Mail First Class for an additional charge.
Royal Mail First Class usually arrives within 1-2 days and Royal Mail Second Class usually arrives within 2-3 days, but rarely, delays can occur with postage. If you are looking to have an item urgently, please choose Royal Mail Special delivery. The only Royal Mail service guaranteed to arrive on time is Royal Mail Special delivery.
We promise to have your item dispatched (Packed and handed to Royal Mail) the same day if you order before 1pm Monday to Friday and funds are cleared, but please remember, once the item has been dispatched, it is in the hands of Royal Mail and we put our trust in them to deliver swiftly.
Depending on the value of your transaction, we may upgrade you for free to Royal Mail Tracked Delivery.
Next day Service
Next day delivery service is available by purchasing Royal Mail special delivery. This would be delivered by either Royal Mail or DPD. All purchases for next day delivery must be purchased before 1 pm and funds must be cleared in order for item to be dispatched for next day delivery.

International Shipping
Items posted international are posted with Royal Mail Standard International, Royal Mail Tracked/Signed service or one of our selected couriers depending on the service you choose at checkout, value and weight of your order. Items are dispatched (Packed and handed to Royal Mail or our selected courier) the same day as long as purchase is made before 1pm UK time Monday to Friday. Items posted international usually take 3-5 days within Europe and 7-10 days outside Europe with Royal Mail. Items can however take up to 3 weeks if there are delays with the post.
Custom charges
Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office or tax authority for information specific to your situation. Additionally, when ordering from us, you are considered the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which you are receiving the goods.
Next day delivery service
DHL express chosen at checkout most likely arrive next day depending on country location and custom. Item must be purchased before 1pm with funds cleared Monday to Friday. We will use one of our selected couriers, .depending on your country location and custom goods
