Jessie Dalzell.
Beautiful portrait painting of a young, African American girl (named Bonnie).
16" X 10".
Unframed.
On verso of the original backing board was a sticker giving the artist's address and the attribution to Bonnie.  Please see last photo for bottom of sticker.
The rest of the sticker gives the artist's home address, etc....and I decided not to show this, just in case her family does not wish that her address be published.
I wonder if Bonnie might somehow stumble on this listing and if so, if she can tell us more about her experience with this amazing artist.
I have purchased a collection Ms. Dalzell's paintings very soon after her artwork from her estate was sold.
These paintings have not been sold publicly, as far as we can tell.  They were in the artist's home.  This one shows a price with an intent to sell, but it appears she never sold the painting.
Jessie Dalzell was a close friend of artist George Schwacha.  Both artists lived close to one another in Bloomfield, New Jersey.
Any additional information about Jessie Dalzell from family or friends is very much appreciated, so we can update this listing with more of her biographical information.
Watercolor on strong, artist's paper board. I say "paper board" since it is not regular paper, but is quite firm and a strong material.
Paper is 3/8" bowed and can easily be flattened when framed (see condition description and last group of photos).
