This is a truly beautiful fancy Songea multi color Sapphire Ring. This ring is in like new condition, hardly worn (please see all the pictures). The ring size is 7.75 and marked 925 (sterling silver) on the inside of the ring. It also has a 14k white gold coating, which isn't marked on the ring. The ring is 7.5 carats with a clarity of VVS and valued at $550.

The Songea sapphire is very rare and shades of the gem can range anywhere from green, purple, pink, yellow, orange and red hues. The variation in color is a result of the high magnesium and iron contents found where the sapphires are mined. The name, Songea, is taken from where the sapphires are found- in Songea, Tanzania. Songea sapphires were first discovered in the 1990's.
