Enthusiasm for the Barber silver design faded quickly, as seen by the rapid fall in proof mintages between 1892 and 1893. This is an unusually well-preserved specimen of the latter year's dime issue
The silver-white surfaces show light dappled gold patina over parts of the fields and shows deeply contrast between the nicely frosted devices and the reflective fields, well within the Cameo designation. Both sides are brilliant with bold strike definition and deeply mirrored fields.
