DESCRIPTION:
A gorgeous, early to mid 19th century American antique New England primitive bentwood, with nailed seams, lidded 8" in diameter, round pantry box. It has superb, naturally aged wood color, with the slightly lighter wood top, displaying the original scars from being turned on a wood lathe. The pantry box's lid has a sturdy, slightly exaggerated outer band, that's nailed together, completing the hoop with two metal fasteners. The body of the pantry box has a jig-cut, round wood plank floor and its tall bentwood sidewalls are free of splits, fractures, dents or loosening where it's joined to the round wood plank floor. The body of the pantry box has simply wonderful, naturally aged amber and honey sidewall colors, showing the wood oxidizing over many, many years. The jig-cut wooden top is scrubbed and looks to have lightened considerably, perhaps as a result of being exposed to sunlight over the years since its inception. Often, the jig cut round wooden bottoms and tops of these antique pantry boxes are split. Not so with this gorgeous, early to mid 19th century, American antique New England primitive bentwood pantry box. Nice.

CONDITION:
Good to Very Good overall antique condition.
