This native vine produces gorgeous fragrant flowers from mid to late summer on 6-8' vines. The flowers turn into edible fruit called ''maypops''. The vine climbs by tendrils, and can be planted on a trellis, a fence or even as a companion with a shrub. The fragrant flowers attract flocks of butterflies. Grows in full sun to light shade. The vine will die back to the roots in colder areas, and be woody in warm areas. Shipped as potted plants.

The Maypop Incarnata Is An Herbaceous Vine The Climbs With Three-Lobed Dark Green Leaves And Thin, Exotic Lavender Flowers That Are Followed By Large, Orange-Yellow Berries That Are Edible. The Vine Can Grow To Approximately 25’ With Trellises, Walls, And Fences Which Adheres Through Root Suckers. This Is An Excellent Choice For A Vibrant Vine Bearing Fruit For Trellis, Walls, Fences, Arbors, As Well As For The City Garden Landscapes, Mediterranean Gardens And Hanging Containers. Picture #2 shows an example of the size plants we have to offer. They average 3-6 inches tall. Please remember these are starter plants and height and fullness does vary. If you will not be happy with one of the smaller size plants we respectfully ask you not to buy.

PLEASE remember these are "STARTER PLANTS"!!! Please DO NOT transplant them into giant pots!!! You will kill it if you do! Put it in a 3 or 4 inch pot with fast draining soil and leave it for at least 6 months!!!!

We always send the biggest plants first! Whatever the size you get it will be healthy and well rooted!!!

NOTICE: If your plant arrives badly damaged I will need photo proof within 24 hours of delivery. I will need photos of the box and the plant in order to send out a replacement. A leaf that comes off during shipment or minor branch breakage does not constitute serious damage. I will only replace the plant if it is badly broken, crushed, or dead on arrival. Some wilting and/or yellowing of leaves or leaf lose it normal. Minor branch breakage is normal. Please remember I can't fix a problem if I don't know about it.

Do not place this young plant in direct sunlight. Gradually introduce it to more sun over the coarse of a few weeks.

You will sometimes have yellowing leaves this is normal as the leaves go through natural leaf death.

We are inspected by the state of Mississippi Agriculture Dept.

We routinely spray our plants with insecticides and fungicides as preventive measures.

WARNING: Always retrieve packages from the mail as soon as it is delivered. If left in a mailbox during freezing temps it will kill the plant(s). If left in mailbox during extreme heat it will kill the plant(s), It is the buyers responsibility to track the package and get it as soon as it is delivered. Tracking information automatically uploads so buyer is able to see exactly what day there package will arrive. So buyers please make sure that you are going to be able to get your package as soon as it arrives. Seller not responsible for plants that are dead due to being left out in the mailbox in extreme heat or cold.

We are in the greenhouses working the rest of the time. Growing and caring for these plants is very time consuming so that is where the bulk of our time is spent.
