Mercury medical tonometer of the USSR. Carbolite body, working, precise, reliable.
Factory Krasnogvardeets 50-60s. A tonometer using mercury is the most accurate tonometer, an erroneous blood pressure measurement result is excluded.
All other tonometers are calibrated using this tonometer, since the measurement of blood pressure
is based on comparing a person's blood pressure with the pressure on mercury.
Mercury blood pressure monitors are considered the standard of accuracy for measuring blood pressure;
they are a completely separate type of device. The prototype of this tonometer was invented in the 19th century in Italy.
The old mercury tonometer is very simple, and therefore breakdowns are rare.
In addition, the device does not require calibration - if the mercury with an empty cuff rests at the “0” mark,
it means that the device is configured correctly.
